Sci-Fantasy.com has seen the first three official images of ‘House of the Dragon’ released by HBO. The series, which was co=created by George R.R. Martin, Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik. And co-created by Martin and Condal, House of the Dragon also stars Paddy Considine, Fabien Frankel, Eve Best and Sonoya Mizuno.
“House of the Dragon” is set some 300 years prior to the events of “Game of Thrones” and tells the story of House Targaryen and the Targaryen civil war that became known as the “Dance of the Dragons.” The cast includes Paddy Considine, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Matt Smith, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Ifans, Eve Best, Sonoya Mizuno, and Fabien Frankel.
The House of the Dragon pilot script that landed the series order was written by Condal. He serves as co-showrunner alongside GoT veteran Miguel Sapochnik, who will direct the pilot and additional episodes. Martin, Condal and Sapochnik executive produce alongside writer Sara Lee Hess, Vince Gerardis and Ron Schmidt. Greg Yaitanes co-executive produces. Yaitanes, Clare Kilner and Geeta V. Patel round out the 10-episode series’ directing team.
HBO gave ‘House of the Drago’ a 10-episode order with a target of a 2022 premiere. The start of production was announced on April 26. It is based on George R.R. Martin’s book “Fire & Blood.” Martin recently signed a five-year overall deal to create content for HBO and HBO Max.

Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower: The Hand of the King, Ser Otto loyally and faithfully serves both his king and his realm. As the Hand sees it, the greatest threat to the realm is the king’s brother, Daemon, and his position as heir to the throne.
