Netflix dropped new videos and news promoting The Witcher season 2 and its prequel, a limited series, The Witcher: Blood Origin, during Tudum, the online fan event held on Saturday.
The streamer also announced that The Witcher has been renewed for season 3, and is developing a second anime film inspired by The Witcher universe as well as a family-friendly Witcher project.
Following is the new “franchise trailer” that includes scenes from both season one and the second season. The Witcher stars Henry Cavill (Superman) as the wandering monster hunter Geralt of Rivia based on a series of books by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski.
The spin-off Blood Origin prequel is set 1,200 years before The Witcher and stars Sophia Brown. The six-part miniseries covers the creation of the first Witcher and events leading to the crucial “Conjunction of the Spheres.” No release date has yet been announced but will almost certainly debut in 2022.
